Why is it called a brownie:
The first brownie recipe didn't even contain chocolate. It consisted of butter, sugar, molasses, an egg, flour, and a few other ingredients. They are so-called because of their dark brown color, not because they contain chocolate.

Even though both cakes seem to be cake-like, the brownies are more like cookies.

Ingredients:
Granulated sugar. 1-1/2 cups
All-purpose flour. 1 cup
Cocoa powder. ⅓ cup
Powdered sugar. ½ cup
Chocolate chips. ¼ cup
Salt. ½ teaspoon
Eggs. 2
Egg yolk. 1
Vegetable oil. ½ cup
Vanilla essence. 1 teaspoon
Hot water. 2 tablespoons
Method:
1- Preheat the oven to 180°c.Grease the baking pan 8×8 and line with parchment paper.Grease the parchment paper.
2 - In a bowl combine the dry ingredients, sugar, flour, cocoa powder, powdered sugar, chocolate chips, and salt.
3- In a bowl with the eggs, egg yolk, oil, hot water, and vanilla.
4- Mix the dry ingredients with wet ingredients
5- Pour the batter into the prepared pan. It'll be thick. Smooth the top with a spatula.
6- Bake for 45 minutes or until the toothpick comes out with only a few crumbs with it.
7-Cool it completely and slice before serving.
