Difference between biscuits and cookies :


Cookies :


Cookies are soft, thick, and are denser than biscuits. Cookies are large, soft, and have chunks. Cookies contain more sugar than biscuits. 


Biscuits :


The word comes from the Latin word bis(twice) and conquer(cooked). It means twice baked. Biscuits are firm, fluffy, and thinner than cookies. Biscuits required hard dough to make the perfect texture of biscuits. 


Delicious treat:


Biscuits and cookies are a very delicious treat and are made with butter, flour, and sugar.


Magic of cookies:


The interesting thing is the magic of cookies. The magic of cookies is inclusion. We can add nuts, raisins, chocolate chunks, and smarties. There are so many 

delicious things that we can add to cookies. These inclusions are added to the batter before baking cookies. Cookies are rarely decorated after baking.



Decoration of Biscuits:


Biscuits are perfect to decorate due to their simple ingredients. Some are dipped in chocolate. They can be drizzled with chocolate or caramel. Biscuits are often filled with cream or jam between two biscuits.

Both biscuits and cookies are delicious and have their taste and characteristics and both are delicious with a hot cup of tea and coffee.


Types of cookies:


There are different types of cookies.


Peanut Butter Cookies:


These cookies are made hand-rolled or dropped and that is often flattened with a fork or thumb.



Butter cookies:





Butter cookies have a high proportion of butter to the flour and have a great taste and aroma. 


Drop cookies


This is the easiest type of cookie. A drop cookie is any cookie that is made by dropping a spoon full/scoop of dough on the parchment paper. Space is needed between cookie dough because the cookie will be spread while baking. Lots of cookies can be dropped cookies and have a soft texture and variety.



Molded cookies:


Molded cookies are molded into balls. Its dough is stiffer than dropped cookie dough. Its example is a peanut butter cookie.


Rolled cookies:



Rolled cookie dough is stiff and must be chilled before you use it. When the dough is chilled, roll out and cut into different shapes with a cookie cutter. Kids like these kinds of shapes. So many examples are there.





Pressed cookie:


Pressed cookie dough must be soft and firm. Then put the dough into a cookie press or pastry bag (gun), pastry tube into various ( different) shapes and sizes.



Sandwich cookie:


It can be rolled cookies and assembled as a sandwich. Different filling ganaches, jam,  buttercream, peanut buttercream can be 

used.



Bar cookie:


It is like a cake and a soft type of cookie. Bar cookies can be crisp and chewy. Bake and cool it then cut it into squares.




So cookies and biscuits are a delicious part of our breakfast and evening tea and coffee.


Bakery style almond biscuits





Ingredients:


Butter. 250 grams

Milk powder 25 grams

Salt. 1/4 teaspoon

Flour. 375 grams

Icing sugar. 190 grams

Egg. Half

Almonds. 200 grams


Method :


Mix all the ingredients and take it out on the counter and rub gently till it becomes smooth. Then cool it in the refrigerator. Roll It and cut it into squ

are shape, beat egg and brush on it. Sprinkle crushed almonds on top. Bake at 160c° for 25 minutes.
